5 Safer Skincare Products I Never Travel Without

Whether for my full time corporate gig, events and meetings pertaining to running multiple business, visiting family or exploring the world with my husband, I’ve had a lot of experience packing up my beauty routine for trips of all lengths and climates. Let me tell you, I’m not what they would call a light packer, but even I will agree that sometimes packing a full 6-piece skincare regimen plus specialty masks, peels, primers and more to achieve your usual glow is just not practical.

No matter where I’m going or for how long, these five safer skincare products are always in my bag helping keep my skin clear, cleansed, glowy and puff-free without the harmful ingredients found in many popular products.

Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm

This is the ultimate multi-tasker. If I had to take just a single skincare product with me it would be this. It is equal parts cleanser, makeup remover, moisturizing mask and balm for dry hands, elbows and feet. No, I’m not kidding. Bonus: it is formulated with a blend of lotus extract, jojoba seed oil, and avocado seed oil to destress skin while increasing luminosity as you travel.

Honest Hazel Eye Masks

After (or during) a long flight in dry cabin air or before an early morning meeting, I reach for these little cooling gems. These eye gels from Honest Hazel are formulates with cactus collagen to reduce puffiness and aloe vera, arbutin, vitamin C, and vitamin E to decrease the appearance of fine lines and combat dark circles and discoloration. They are only $12 for a three pack and I get them from online safer beauty store Credo Beauty. This link saves you $10 on your first order.

Charcoal Face Mask

I recently wrote a post over on the Pop Of Health instagram page about my journey to partnering with Beautycounter. One of the first chapters of my love affair turned long-term-commitment was this little squeeze bottle here: the Counter+ Charcoal Mask. In just 10 minutes this mask gets you to a purified complexion. With its nutrient-rich kaolin clay and activated charcoal, it purifies and balances skin, absorbing excess oil and drawing out impurities like those picked up from long days traveling. I fell in love years ago with how it made my skin feel and look and I don’t travel far from home without it.

BONUS: If you join the Beautycounter Loyalty program called “Band of Beauty” this month (February) you can receive a full size charcoal mask ($49 value) for free. Learn more here.

Brightening Vitamin C Face Mist

Most days I work from home so if my makeup needs a touchup or my skin needs a boost I’m a short skip and half a hop away from my bathroom counter. But when I travel for work or even pleasure for that matter, THIS is my secret weapon for keeping my skin and makeup looking like I just stepped away from my bathroom mirror. This Counter+ Brightening Mist helps prep skin, set makeup, and refresh the complexion throughout the day. It is formulated with lime pearl extract and antioxidant-rich vitamin C to help even skin tone and gently promote a brighter complexion. And it goes with me EVERYWHERE.

Overnight Resurfacing Peel

If my cleansing balm is my multi-tasker this is my complexion-maker and must have on trips when my skin undoubtedly begin to feel rougher or look duller for being in a new environment. The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is a leave-on AHA/BHA peel that works overnight to improve your skin’s texture and boost clarity without irritation or over-drying. Using glycolic, malic, and botanically derived lactic acid, the formula clears away dull surface cells, while arginine and essential fatty acids help soothe and nourish to reveal a brighter complexion. I use it 3-4 nights a weeks. After I apply, I wait 5 minutes for it to dry and apply the Cleansing Balm overtop for the ultimate dewy morning glow. (told you it was a multi-tasker).

To recap: These are five safer skincare products I never travel without. These 5 pieces help me fell my best and care for my skin without sacrificing quality (or too much space in my luggage). For my full daily skincare and makeup regimens, check out this blog post here.
